Lounges hosts Little Loungers Breakfast clubs over the summer holidays
Lounges has teamed up with cereal giant, Kellogg’s, to launch Summer Breakfast Clubs across England and Wales, serving up free bowls of Corn Flakes, Bran Flakes or Rice Krispies. They aim to help families by ensuring children start the day with something tasty, simple and on the house.
Research from Kellogg’s revealed that without their school breakfast club, one fifth of parents in the UK would see an increase in their household food costs (19%) and a similar amount would be concerned about their child missing breakfast (17%). Lounges’ new initiative aims to take one small worry off the table during the holidays when school breakfast clubs aren’t available.
Until term restarts in September, families popping into their local Lounge can make the most of a free Kellogg’s Breakfast for children, complete with their choice of dairy or nondairy milk**. No vouchers, no faff, just a proper breakfast to set little ones up for the day. Nearly 200 Lounges are participating, and you can check if your local Lounge is participating here: Little Loungers Breakfast Club - Lounges
Sarah Lake, CMO, Loungers, said: “School holidays can really stretch family budgets, so we wanted to do something genuinely helpful for our community. Partnering with Kellogg’s means we can offer a balanced breakfast in a warm, friendly space where families can relax, chat and enjoy time together. It’s a small way of making those long summer weeks feel a bit easier for parents, grandparents and carers.”
Summer Breakfast Clubs at Lounges is in partnership with Kellogg’s and kindly distributed by Bidfood, ensuring breakfasts stay free throughout the summer break.
Gianna Regonini, Kellogg’s National Account Manager for Bidfood, said: ‘’Breakfast clubs play an important role in supporting children and families, but that need does not stop when the school term ends. It’s been great to partner with Lounges to ensure we can continue to support families during the school holidays, while also giving them a welcoming place to enjoy breakfast and spend quality time together.’’
Vicki Philpott, Business Development Controller, Hotels & Restaurants at Bidfood, commented: ‘’We’re delighted to play a role in bringing this initiative from Lounges and Kellogg’s to life. At Bidfood, we know the important role that breakfast plays in setting children up for the day, and we’re proud to help make these free breakfasts accessible to families throughout the summer holidays. When school is out, it’s great to see hospitality stepping in to help families across the country, and this is a great example of what can be achieved when businesses work together to support local communities through the challenges of the school holidays.’’
