Festive Fruit Wreaths

Method

  1.  Put the butter in a large saucepan and melt over a low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until the mixture is completely melted, then remove from the heat. Stir in the vanilla.
  2.  Next add the Rice Krispies along with the dates, red and green cherries, and nuts. Stir until well coated.
  3.  Put the mixture on greaseproof paper and shape it into a wreathe about 8" wide.
  4.  To add the finishing touches, decorate with sweets and sprinkle with icing sugar. Festive indeed!

Microwave directions

Heat the butter and marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl on HIGH for 3 minutes. After 2 minutes, stir the mixture until it's smooth, and add the vanilla. Then simply follow steps 2-4 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.

  • 45g butter or margarine
  • 300g (about 40) marshmallows
  • 150g Kellogg's Rice Krispies
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 180g Kellogg's Rice Krispies
  • 50g chopped dates
  • 50g chopped red cherries
  • 50g chopped green cherries
  • 60g broken walnuts
  • Sweets for decorating
  • Icing sugar for decorating
