Sustainability is nothing new to Kellogg’s. When the first Corn Flake packet went into large scale production in the early 20th century it was made of recycle cardboard and the same is true today.
We are serious about reducing the impact of our business. That’s why our plastic cereal liners are 40pc thinner than 30 years ago, we’ve committed to the Food and Drink Federation’s 5-fold environmental ambition and we’ve signed up to the Courtauld Commitment to packaging waste.
We are always looking to improve what we do but things have to be grounded in reality. We are clear, any new packaging designs will only be sustainable if shoppers want to buy products in – if package is left on the shelf and then thrown away then that’s not a solution.
