KELLOGG’S EMPLOYEES TO RECEIVE CHRISTMAS WINDFALL
Cereal giant dishes out over £1m in bonuses to help workers cover the cost of the festive season
FOOD giant Kellogg’s is covering the cost of Christmas for its non-executive UK workers this year with an extra week’s pay in their December wage packet.
Today its 1,600 office and factory based employees will wake up to an early Christmas present with their Kellogg’s cornflakes this morning with an average bonus of £683.
Research shows the cost of Christmas for the average family household in the UK this year will be £500*.
The 53rd Week’s pay scheme at Manchester-based Kellogg’s has been running for over 25 years and despite challenging economic conditions this year will see the average payout increase.
Karen Meehan, Kellogg’s VP of human resources, said: “When so many companies are making cutbacks it’s great that we are able to pay out this bonus to our employees again this year and help them with the cost of Christmas – some of whom may be impacted by family members affected by the recession.”
