Pop music impresario Simon Cowell, derided for his white teeth, moobs and high wasted trousers has topped a poll to find Britain’s top 10 secret crushes.
The survey of ‘surprisingly tasty’ celebs carried out by cereal bar Fibre Plus polled 3000 women across the UK and revealed that; it’s the older, rich and powerful male celebs we are secretly attracted to rather than the playboy lifestyle of footballers and musicians.
When asked to reveal their secret crush, 33% of women chose Simon Cowell, proving that he really does have the X factor when it comes to women, followed closely by loud-mouthed DJ and self styled savior of Radio One Chris Moyles.
Sir Alan Sugar, Lord Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Cowell’s fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan also made the list of men the women of Britain secretly find attractive.
1. Simon Cowell (33%)
2. Chris Moyles (14%)
3. Philip Glenister (11%)
4. Piers Morgan (8%)
5. Alan Sugar (7%)
6.Adrian Chiles (6%)
7. Chris Evans (6%)
8. Boris Johnson (6%)
9. Greg Wallace (6%)
10. Adam Woodyatt (3%)
But when asked about their real life love 72% said they’d rather have a man with striking good looks and little money rather than a filthy rich man with little facial or physical appeal. And 56% said that they found sense of humour the most attractive quality in the opposite sex and that imperfections made men sexier.
With the average age of the top ten surprisingly tasty celebrity men averaging at 46 years – it’s no surprise that 60% of the women questioned revealed they would go for an older man!
When quizzed on their second guilty pleasure – chocolate, the Fibre Plus survey revealed that almost half those polled (43%)had absolutely no clue how many calories their favourite chocolate bar contains. The respondents stated they perceive chocolate bars as a treat rather than a snack, with only 14% admitting they couldn’t go a day without a chocolate bar.
Sally Tribe, Fibre Plus spokesperson said:
“It seems that British women just can’t get enough of Simon Cowell. It was strange not to see some real lookers like David Beckham and Johnny Depp but I guess we are not so ashamed of crushes on them.”
“In celebration of National Chocolate Week we’ve worked with renowned Chocolatier Prudence Staite to create fantastic edible chocolate heads and bars of these surprisingly tasty celebrities. So thanks to Fibre Plus we’ll finally get to find out what Simon Cowell tastes like.”
