- 7/10 UK adults believe that learning to ride a bike is now less of a right of passage than it was during their childhood
- 48% feel that learning to ride a bike is a 'less useful/critical' skill now than during their childhood
- Spend amongst parents of under-16s on computer games/consoles is, on average, double that spent on bikes/cycling (£250 against £125 over typical 2 year period) demonstrating that cycling is less of a priority for the majority of households
- Almost half of all Britons (46%) describe where they live as ‘cycling unfriendly‘
- The top incentive to encourage family cycling/more cycling would be more family friendly routes (52%)
