What is a Breakfast Club?
A breakfast club is a safe, friendly, relaxed place where children can enjoy a nutritional breakfast with their teachers and classmates before school. It’s the perfect place to start the day so children get all the energy they need for the day ahead.
Breakfast Clubs usually take place in schools but can also be found in other community settings. You don't have to be a school to have a breakfast club!
Breakfast clubs are proven to improve children’s behaviour, punctuality and attendance rates at school. They also increase concentration levels throughout the morning and can often improve relationships between teachers and children so everyone’s happy!

How Kellogg’s is Involved
Over the last 10 years we have invested over £1m working with our partner ContinYou to promote the benefits of breakfast clubs.
ContinYou is a national learning charity that aims to open up learning opportunities that are accessible to everyone. ContinYou works with a wide range of partners to transform lives through learning.
- Working together, we have helped develop breakfast club services at over 450 schools and community settings in England, Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- These clubs serve around 1 million breakfasts each year!
- We support ContinYou so that it can provide the best resources, training and support possible to breakfast clubs all over the UK.
- A hotline is provided to answer any questions about setting up or developing a breakfast club.
- We created The National Breakfast Club Register so that you can share ideas, resources and knowledge with other breakfast clubs in your area
- Every year we run The Breakfast Club Awards to recognise best practice in breakfast clubs and recognise the great work of teachers, parents, volunteers, school staff and children.
