    Shelly was so lonely when she was rescued from Israel that it took her a long time to warm to her new surroundings. She's still shy but has bonded with two other vervet monkeys and loves her new home.

    Captured from the wild and sent to Israel, Ronny spent many years locked in cages. He now lives at the sanctuary in Malawi and loves to play in his enclosure.

    Coco is a very well behaved baby – he puts himself to bed in his basket when he gets tired and is a very sociable and friendly soul. He loves his little adopted brother Pops and the two of them have become inseparable.

    Rescued from a nursery in northern Israel, Peleg’s name means little river. A calm, kind vervet monkey, Peleg now lives a happy life at the sanctuary.

    Stumpy was discovered in a road-side market with a rope around his neck. Some of his teeth have been removed and he is missing one arm, but he's still one of the friendliest baboons at the sanctuary.

    Johnny was found scared and alone near Lake Malawi. Since arriving at the sanctuary he’s been vaccinated and is almost ready to be released into the wild.

    Kiiko

    Kiiko is one of the babies of the sanctuary, and was discovered being sold illegally by the side of the road. He now loves his new friends and will be released into the wild in November 2009.

    Eylon sleeps so much he's known as the grandfather of the group. A bit of a loner, he was rescued from Israel but now lives a happy life at the sanctuary.

    Benji was found for sale on the side of the road when he was just four weeks old. He loves to attach himself to Madson and fall asleep. With your help, Benji will grow big and strong and be released into the wild.
