David Butt – European IT

Applications Support Manager

I’ve been with Kellogg’s for over 9 years. I started as part of the EBA programme as a Business Analyst implementing EBA projects throughout Kellogg’s Europe. When that project ended in 2000, I was offered a job in IT to integrate the ERP system into the IT Department. Since then I have progressed through the IT organisation to the position I have now.

When I first started, I didn’t really know much about Kellogg’s, its culture or its values. But since then I’ve learnt a lot about Kellogg’s and this is easily the best organisation I’ve worked for. The conditions are excellent, they value their staff and invest in their people. I’ve progressed into people management through IT and have tried to be conscious of people’s needs within the organisation.

Kellogg’s are different from other employers. They are very flexible, more understanding and have a ‘work hard – play hard’ culture where your contribution is recognised and rewarded. There is an excellent performance and appraisal process in the shape of PMPs and IDPs, where you’re encouraged to think about where you sit in the organisation and where you (and the company) are going.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to travel extensively with the company and have seen many countries and cities across the world.
