Points of pride

The people of Dublin are justifiably proud both of the history and tradition of their hometown, and of how far it has come in recent years to take its place as one of the most successful and popular cities in Europe.

Its legacy of literary genius – Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw, W.B. Yeats, James Joyce - is never far from the surface in its bars, cafés and streets.

While the effects of its vigorous ‘Celtic Tiger’ economy can be seen in its shops and department stores, as well as in its wealth of booming new businesses.

Dubliners, of course, are famously friendly, extending a welcome to people from all over the world who travel here to be part of the ‘new’ Dublin and the opportunities it offers.

The city is also a centre of excellence in Irish education, with three universities and dozens of colleges offering a vast range of opportunities in everything from classical studies to the creative arts, social sciences, languages and business studies.
