Kellogg’s in the community
Kellogg’s enjoys a long and proud heritage of supporting community projects in the UK, with a strong theme of promoting healthy, active lifestyles. Below you will find examples of just some of the initiatives that complement this objective:
Kellogg’s and Swimming
We’re passionate about swimming here at Kellogg’s. It’s great for your health, it’s a fantastic family fun activity and most importantly it’s the only sport that can save your life. That’s why we’ve promoted and supported swimming in the UK since 1996 with a ‘grass roots to gold medals’ partnership with British Swimming. In that time, the partnership has helped more than 500,000 children learn to swim through the Kellogg’s ASA Awards scheme, the most successful awards scheme in British sport.
In 2009, we launched another three year partnership with British Swimming to help thousands of families get active by swimming as a regular part of their lives. We’re supporting the government’s Swim4Life initiative by investing £240,000 each year to develop community projects that remove the barriers that prevent families from participating in swimming. These projects will include providing transport to pools in rural areas, swim sessions for children with weight issues as well as having closed sessions for women and children from minority communities presently at risk of exclusion due to their religious or ethnic constraints.

Kellogg’s and Breakfast Clubs
Kellogg’s has been working with learning charity ContinYou since 1998 in which time over £1million has been invested in promoting breakfast clubs and the benefits that they bring to schools all over the UK. It has been consistently proven that breakfast clubs can help to improve behaviour, attendance and punctuality. They also increase concentration levels throughout the morning and can often improve relationships between teachers and children so everyone’s happy!
Kellogg’s recently announced a further investment of £340,000 over three years as part of its commitment to the government’s Change4life initiative. This will help develop and support breakfast clubs in the 500 most deprived areas of the UK.

Employee match
Kellogg’s runs an employee match scheme for its employees — matching pound-for-pound money that they raise for good causes. In 2008 Kellogg’s donated £18,000 to 38 local charities through this scheme.
